Will an appliance bought abroad work in Bali?
The grid runs at 230 V and 50 Hz, with type C and F sockets. A device rated for 100-120 V only needs a transformer; a device marked “100-240 V” only needs a plug adapter.
What warranty comes with a new appliance?
Trade Ministry Regulation 38/2019 requires manufacturers and importers to supply the electronic products covered by the regulation (most appliances and electronics sold in Indonesia) with a manual and a warranty card in Indonesian, with a warranty of at least one year. Ask for the card and the invoice. Between private sellers, run the appliance in front of you before paying.
