How can I tell solid teak?
Ask for “jati” (teak) and where it comes from, look at the edges and the back of the piece to spot veneer, and lift it: solid wood is heavy. Look for small holes with fine sawdust, a sign of wood-boring insects. For new furniture, ask whether the wood was kiln-dried to limit cracking.

How do I pay safely?
In person, after seeing the piece: no transaction goes through Lokalfinds. Do not pay a deposit for used furniture you have not seen, and meet in daylight.
