There is no official Apple Store in Bali — and none anywhere else in Indonesia. On the Apple side, two verified Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASP) operate in Denpasar, both on Jl. Teuku Umar: iBox (No.8 Blok B1, 10am–10pm) and eWorld (No.60, Mon–Sat 9am–8pm). The rest of the network comes down to about twenty workshops — independents and official brand centres — spread from Canggu to Ubud by way of Seminyak, Kuta, Sanur, the Bukit and Denpasar; some, like Rumah Gadget in Denpasar, advertise a battery or a screen replaced in 30 to 60 minutes (recorded in August 2026).
Two traps to know about before you push a door open. Apple's one-year warranty can be restricted to the country of purchase: an iPhone bought in London or Los Angeles can be refused warranty service in Indonesia. And a phone carried in from abroad has to have its IMEI registered with customs within 60 days, or no Indonesian SIM card will work in it. Verified addresses area by area, what the warranties are actually worth, the taxes to budget for — here is the whole circuit.
No Apple Store in Indonesia: so who do you turn to?
Every new arrival is caught out by the same thing: Apple owns no stores of its own in Indonesia. The apple.com/id site does not even sell directly — its "Beli" (buy) buttons lead to selection pages, and the footer invites you to "find a reseller near you". Local outlet Bali Guider spells it out in its January 2025 guide: there is no official Apple Store on the island.
The relationship between Apple and Jakarta has, in fact, just come through a rough patch: the iPhone 16 was banned from sale in Indonesia from October 2024 to April 2025 for failing the local content rule (TKDN), which demands 40% Indonesian components. The ban was lifted in exchange for an investment commitment of USD 150 million covering two plants — accessories in Bandung, AirTag in Batam — plus a semiconductor R&D centre. An Apple store in Jakarta has resurfaced regularly in the tech press since that deal; as we write (August 2026), nothing is confirmed.
On the island, then, the Apple ecosystem rests on three links:
- iBox — Apple Authorized Reseller and Apple Authorized Service Provider, with an official repair-tracking portal (aasp.ibox.co.id). Outlets at Lippo Mall Kuta, on Jl. Teuku Umar in Denpasar and at Trans Studio Mall Bali. The (021) 1500372 number some directories publish is the national call centre; the number recorded for the Teuku Umar shop itself is (0361) 229 060.
- eWorld Denpasar — AASP in the Mac Store Indonesia network (PT QCD Indonesia), Jl. Teuku Umar No.60, Monday to Saturday 9am–8pm, public holidays included.
- Digimap — authorised reseller at Bali Mall Gallery, cited by Bali Guider.
Before you travel anywhere, two free official tools: checkcoverage.apple.com to check your AppleCare coverage by serial number, and locate.apple.com for the current list of authorised centres in Indonesia.

Is the warranty you got back home worth anything here?
This is the one almost everybody discovers too late. Apple's limited warranty runs for one year from the original retail purchase. And the brand's legal text explicitly allows warranty service — iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, HomePod, Apple Vision Pro — to be restricted to the country where the device was originally sold by Apple or its authorised distributors. In plain terms: an iPhone bought in London can be turned away for warranty repair in Denpasar, even by an authorised centre. Free service is not a right you carry across borders — check your coverage online, then confirm by phone before riding across the island.
Samsung is blunter still: the Indonesian warranty only covers products sold by PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia and used inside the country. A Galaxy bought abroad will be charged for even during its warranty period, at a rate presented as higher than the one applied to locally sold products — it is written on Samsung Indonesia's official warranty page. Local terms: 12 months for smartphones and tablets, 6 months for accessories.
| Brand | Local warranty | Device bought abroad | Check / contact |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple | 1 year (limited warranty) | Service sometimes restricted to the country of purchase — official clause | checkcoverage.apple.com, locate.apple.com |
| Samsung | 12 months phone and tablet, 6 months accessories | Charged for even under warranty | samsung.com/id + 0804-112-8888 (paid line) |
| Acer | 3 years depending on range, accidental damage (AADP), on-site service | Not publicly stated | acerid.com — ACSC Denpasar, 9am–8pm |
| ASUS | Depends on product, checkable by serial number | Check online before travelling | asus.com/id + hotline 1500 128 |
| LG | Depends on product | Not publicly stated | 1500 140 + WhatsApp +62 811 881 4010 |
| Epson | Depends on product | Not publicly stated | Locator on epson.co.id |
The rule that comes out of the table: a device bought in Indonesia gets repaired, full stop; an imported device gets repaired on a quote, however recent it is. One more line for any expat budget: the kit you bring from home lives here without a manufacturer's safety net.

Denpasar is still the repair capital, and a single street holds most of it: Jl. Teuku Umar. You will find iBox (No.8) and eWorld (No.60) there, along with a cluster of independents listed by Indonesian outlets JejakPiknik (July 2024) and IDN Times Bali (May 2024): iColor, iRepair Aba (No.208-210, 0811 1009 221, 9am–9pm) and 21 Gadget Stuff (No.73). Elsewhere in the city: iTube Store on Jl. Diponegoro, Dewata Repair (Apple and Android, Jl. Tukad Pakerisan), iSolve (Jl. Raya Pemogan, which advertises round-the-clock support) and iRoom Service (Jl. Kartini No.140C, "warranty on every part" and a "Go Repair" home service).
Two honest caveats about these lists. One: they date from mid-2024 to early 2025, and in Bali the opening hours and phone numbers of small workshops change fast — a WhatsApp message or a glance at Google Maps before you leave saves a wasted trip. Two: for the official Samsung and ASUS centres in Denpasar, the directories contradict one another on the exact addresses — three different street numbers for the Samsung SC on Jl. Mahendradatta, four addresses in circulation for ASUS.
When that happens, the only reliable reflex is the manufacturer's own tool. For Samsung: the locator on samsung.com/id and the national number 0804-112-8888, which is charged for — the "free" 0800-112-8888 that directories keep repeating no longer appears on the brand's official pages. For ASUS: the official checker and locator and the 1500 128 hotline.

Independent or authorised centre: how do you decide?
Speed argues for the independents. Rumah Gadget (Denpasar, two workshops, 9am–10pm every day) advertises most routine repairs — battery, LCD screen — in 30 to 60 minutes, with a one-year warranty on standard batteries and a "lifetime" one on premium batteries. iRoom Service claims a warranty "on every part" and comes to your door with its "Go Repair" service. Bali Pro, based in Batubulan (Gianyar), offers a home visit service for iPhones with cash on delivery, bookable over WhatsApp, and handles screens, batteries, cameras, speakers, charging ports and water damage.
Traceability argues for the authorised centres. Official-network parts and procedures, status verifiable on the Apple locator, online case tracking at iBox. The flip side is dependence on imported parts. bali.live reports the case of an Acer motherboard replacement — free of charge, the author notes — that took three months at an official centre. A single anecdote, not to be turned into a rule, especially since Acer also promises on-site service. Both realities fit together: the labour is here, it is the part that travels.
On prices, distrust every published figure. No repairer on the island puts a usable price list online; the only figure recorded — "from 65,000 IDR" at iColor in Denpasar — dates from July 2024 and is worth nothing more than a headline price. The careful method: describe the fault and the model over WhatsApp, with a photo, ask for a firm quote and compare at least two before you hand the device over. Get the repair warranty spelled out in writing (length and scope): it is a genuine point of difference between workshops.
The call in one line: device under warranty or on AppleCare, authorised centre first (after checking on checkcoverage.apple.com); device out of warranty or bought abroad, independent — the advertised turnaround is far shorter, provided you get a written parts warranty.
Phone brought in from abroad: sort the IMEI out before the repair
Getting the screen replaced on a phone that cannot connect to the Indonesian network makes very little sense. A reminder of the rules published by customs at Ngurah Rai airport (Bea Cukai):
- without a registered IMEI, no Indonesian SIM card works in an imported device;
- registration no later than 60 days after arrival, with a limit of 2 devices per passenger; past that deadline the application is refused and the device stays cut off from the local network;
- the duty exemption of up to USD 500 only applies if registration is done inside the customs zone, at the airport (or within 5 days of any health quarantine);
- away from the airport, full taxes apply: 10% import duty, 11% VAT — the rate shown on the Bea Cukai Ngurah Rai page consulted in August 2026 — and 10% import income tax (PPh art. 22) with an NPWP tax number, 20% without. Legal basis: PER-13/BC/2021 jo PER-7/BC/2023;
- the registration itself is free: Bea Cukai offices repeat it across their information pages. A legitimate payment can only ever be an import tax, settled through a payment (billing) code into the state treasury account — never into the personal account of a "facilitator";
- an IMEI (15 digits) can be checked on beacukai.go.id.
So if you have just landed with the phone you use back home, this piece of paperwork comes before any repair — exactly like the other steps in our Bali moving checklist.

MacBook, laptop, printer: the right doors to knock on
For a Mac, three verified options: eWorld (authorised centre in the Mac Store Indonesia network, Denpasar), Mac Dewata (Ubud 10am–5pm, Sanur 8am–10pm) and Bali Pro (Batubulan), which lists MacBooks and iMacs alongside phones. When the laptop is the tool you work with — the case for most of the freelancers who fill the island's cafe-coworking spaces — start with the coverage check on checkcoverage.apple.com: it tells you in thirty seconds whether the trip to an authorised centre is worth making.
On the PC side, ASUS runs a national hotline (1500 128, Mon–Fri 9.30am–5pm, Sat 9.30am–12pm, according to its official contact page) and a service centre in Denpasar, whose most-quoted address is Jl. Teuku Umar Barat No.888D — to be confirmed through the official locator. Acer has the most generous offer on paper: 3-year warranty, accidental damage protection (AADP) and on-site service, with an ACSC centre in Denpasar (9am–8pm). Bali Pro repairs laptops of all brands too, and on the Android side ASUS, Oppo, Vivo, Realme and Xiaomi.
For connected appliances and LG screens: hotline 1500 140 (7am–8pm on weekdays, 7am–6pm at weekends and on public holidays, Jakarta time), WhatsApp +62 811 881 4010 and online repair booking. For an Epson printer, go through the official locator on epson.co.id — the brand publishes no Bali address on its home page.
Repair, resell, replace: the classifieds reflex
Repair is not always the right equation, above all for an older device whose spare part has to be imported. Three concrete uses for a local marketplace like Lokalfinds:
- Find a repairer who comes to you. The home visit already exists on the island (iRoom's "Go Repair", cash on delivery at Bali Pro); the Jobs & Services section is where you spot these mobile providers — useful when you live a long way from Denpasar.
- Sell a broken device "for parts" instead of leaving it to die in a drawer: screens, chassis, cameras and batteries are exactly what the workshops listed above are after. A listing that is honest about the condition saves you the back-and-forth and the disputes — the 5 tips for selling fast apply twice over to faulty kit.
- Buy your replacement locally. The decisive advantage over importing: if the phone works in front of you with an Indonesian SIM card, the IMEI question is already settled. Test it with your own SIM before you pay — it is the simplest check there is.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an official Apple Store in Bali or in Indonesia?
No. As of August 2026 there is no Apple-owned store anywhere in Indonesia: apple.com/id points you to authorised resellers. After-sales service goes through authorised centres (AASP) such as iBox and eWorld in Denpasar, which you can locate via locate.apple.com. A Jakarta opening has been floated in the press since the 2025 Apple-Indonesia deal, with no verifiable confirmation to date.
Does the Apple warranty I bought back home work in Bali?
Not automatically. Apple's limited warranty runs for one year, and the official text allows Apple to restrict iPhone and iPad service to the country where the device was originally sold. A model bought in Europe, the UK or the US can therefore be refused free service in Indonesia. Check your coverage on checkcoverage.apple.com, then confirm by phone with the authorised centre.
How much does an iPhone repair cost in Bali?
Repairers on the island publish no reliable price list online. The only figure recorded — "from 65,000 IDR" at iColor in Denpasar — dates from July 2024 and is worth nothing more than a headline price. Ask for a firm quote over WhatsApp, stating the model and the fault, with a photo, and compare at least two workshops before you hand the device over.
How long does a phone repair take in Bali?
At independents, common faults move fast: Rumah Gadget in Denpasar advertises a battery or a screen replaced in 30 to 60 minutes (recorded in August 2026). At an official centre, everything depends on parts availability: bali.live reports one account of three months for an Acer motherboard replacement. If it is urgent, check that the part is in stock by phone before you travel.
What is IMEI registration and does it apply to me?
Any phone bought abroad has to be registered with Indonesian customs (Bea Cukai) before it will work with a local SIM card. Deadline: 60 days maximum after arrival, 2 devices per passenger. The USD 500 duty exemption only applies to registration in the customs zone, at the airport. After 60 days, registration is refused and the device stays cut off from the Indonesian network.
Where can I get a MacBook repaired in Bali?
Two verified Apple authorised centres operate in Denpasar, on Jl. Teuku Umar: eWorld (No.60, Mon–Sat 9am–8pm, Mac Store Indonesia network) and iBox (10am–10pm, online repair tracking) — the current list is always locate.apple.com. Among independents, Mac Dewata has sites in Ubud and Sanur, and Bali Pro in Batubulan says it handles MacBooks and iMacs. Check parts availability over WhatsApp before you travel.
How do I check that a repairer is Apple-authorised?
Use the official locator, locate.apple.com, and select Indonesia: it lists every active Apple Authorized Service Provider. iBox additionally runs a dedicated repair-tracking portal, aasp.ibox.co.id, which confirms its status. A workshop missing from that list is not authorised: it may be perfectly competent, but it works outside the official Apple network.
