Abstract painting

Abstract Artwork Description Title of Work: The Dark Bright Side of the Artist Artist: Irawan Art Medium: Acrylic Paint on Canvas Technique: Impasto & Palette Knife Technique Size: 100 cm x 90 cm This 100x90 cm abstract painting by Irawan Art is a powerful and dynamic visual exploration of color, texture, and structural composition. This work uses a limited yet highly contrasting color palette—particularly dense yellow (ochre), deep red (crimson), solid black, and touches of white/gray—applied with thick impasto technique using a palette knife Structural Composition Dynamics: The composition of this painting is dominated by the intersection of rough geometric shapes and bold color fields. There is strong movement from upper left to lower right, creating structural tension between dark color blocks (black) and light ones (yellow and white). The dominant central yellow field serves as a visual anchor, flanked by an expressive explosion of red in the upper left and a firm black block in the lower left, creating depth and structure resembling a fragmented cityscape or emotional turmoil.
